Unfortunately, due to privacy reasons, I can’t show the bulk of my work that I’ve done at Keikens. In the following case study I’ll provide as much information as I can on the work I’ve done during my 1+ year as the sole product designer on the Keikens team.

Background

What we've launched

I) Activity Booking & Management Product

  • Defined product requirements alongside founder and development team based on focus group research, user personas, user journey flows.
  • Created user flows and designs in Figma for each requirement and collaborated with team throughout process to ensure designs met expectations
  • Requirements for the parent experience included activity listings, activity information pages, profile portal with booking history, child information, etc.
  • Requirements for our customer—the service provider—included an activity creation tool, registration and waitlist logs, a repository of parent/student information.
  • Launched product in 6 weeks. Gathered feedback from provider and parents to improve the product in subsequent iterations.
    • For example, the provider found it inconvenient and cumbersome to view registered and waitlisted students on separate pages, so I created a new table that combined registrations and waitlists for an improved experience.
    • We also wanted to create a cart feature so parents could have the ability to checkout for multiple activities and students at once.

II.) Payments & Billing Product

  • This product arose out of a business need for Keikens. The previous way that parents paid providers was not in alignment with Keikens’ business model.
  • Therefore, we built a payments product, integrating Stripe that would achieve our business goal.
  • Once the product requirements were defined, I got started producing a payments capability for parents where they could enter credit card information and complete payment for their activities.
  • The bulk of the work for this product was on the provider side. We needed to create a transaction log, specific transaction pages, revenue analytics, discount codes, a refunds feature, and more.
  • This second product is another step toward provider service providers with a one-stop comprehensive tool to understand their business.
  • The payments & billing product was launched at the end of Q1 2025.

Starting my business, I needed complementary skills. Matt listened to our vision, target psychographic, and the problems we aim to solve. He then created our logo, color palette, and UI/UX for the platform. His perspective is fresh and thoughtful, driven by genuine curiosity. Time with Matt is always valuable. Meet him, and you'll understand why.
